Forget rainbow coffee,
the latest brewing trend is coffee in a cone. In fact, South African
barista Dayne Levinrad claims the quirky cup of Joe is the most
instagrammed cup of coffee with almost 1 million images boasting the
#coffeeinacone hashtag.
Tons of people have flocked to
The Grind Coffee Company in Johannesburg to taste the sweet treat which
is basically hot coffee is poured into a chocolate-lined cone. Customers
have about 10 minutes to drink it before it becomes a melty mess,
according to reports.
While Levinrad claims to be the
innovator behind the concept and the only coffee shop in the world to
serve coffee in this way, other spots around the world have jumped on
the cone concoction as well. Zia Valentina, Nespresso Boutique, and Alfred in the Alley in Los Angeles also serve coffee in a variety of cone flavors. And a coffee pop-up in Malaysia is creating large cone cups for their brew. Regardless of who first developed the concept, what we do know is they look delicious.
